His profile having been raised to an unprecedented level on the surprise hit ITV show, Darren was only too pleased to become the latest entrant in my album! A lovely fella, with great bone structure and gleaming teeth, we met at the BMG party at Cafe de Paris, where we had been roped in to publicise the launch of the Elvis album, "30". Darren sang a few numbers, including Trouble, which I have to admit was very good indeed. But "Love Rat" or not, he was a charming bloke, which is a nice thing to say about someone. Other celebrities who were performing alongside us included Boy George, Nick Moran, Lilly Savage and Barry McGuigan (yes, the boxer), whose tiny hand I firmly shook, all but crushing the charming pugilist's fragile bones...
